Welcome to the Madam Wokie blog!!

Hi guys,

Welcome to the Madame Wokie blog, which is basically about showcasing Sierra Leonean talent through fashion and discussions on art, events, politics, health, beauty and various other topics. Individually,  Madame Wokie is a brand created by Mary-Ann Kaikai in 2009 to design exclusive yet stylish, durable and affordable African garments for Sierra Leoneans.

The brand is named after Mary-ann's maternal great-grandmother- Madam Wokie Massaquoi who was a beautiful, strong and super stylish lady who loved expressing herself through fashion. The brand incorporates elegant modern designs into African fabrics and over the years, she perfected her art to include bags, jewellery, footwear and a ready-to-wear line which is well known in the Sierra Leonean community and has been featured on various celebrities and in international fashion shows.

The shop is located at Number 14C Syke Street, Brookfields, Freetown, Sierra Leone. All of the pieces and jewellery are manufactured in Africa; with most coming from Sierra Leone.
